GENERAL INFORMATION:
Our studio offers lessons in Acro (tumbling), Baton, and Dance to school aged children beginning as young as 3 years old. Classes are held Tuesday evenings in New Enterprise.
Dance classes are from September 8th until April 27th.
Acro classes are from September 8th until May 25th.
And Baton classes are from March 2nd until August 3rd.
Each student has the opportunity to participate in various fundraisers to raise funds for their individual account. As a parent/guardian, you are able to use those funds toward batons, baton uniforms, and dance costumes, as well as Hart in Motion apparel orders, our recital DVD and love notes in our year end recital program.
We do offer a “trial run” for our classes. You are responsible for the cost of lessons but are not required to purchase any batons, dance shoes or costumes until after they give it a try. The last day to decide whether they want to continue dance & acro classes is September 29th.
DANCE
Ballet, tap and jazz are the three styles of dance our instructors will teach your children. All classes start out learning and reviewing the fundamentals in all three areas. Our team works hard inside and outside the studio to prepare and provide your child with high quality lessons. Our year end recital is when we showcase the hard work your child puts in during the year.
In class, students may wear a leotard/biketard, skirt, shorts, leggings or “gym clothes” where they are able to move around freely. They must have their hair pulled up out of their face.
Dance shoes – black tap shoes & pink ballet shoes for all classes. And black jazz shoes for those who have 1 hour dance classes.

ACRO (TUMBLING)
Acro (or also known as tumbling) is one of our classes we offer to students. We have two trained gymnastic coaches that teach our students the tumbling basics. Then as they learn the basics, they will begin building onto their experience. They will learn safety, jumps, turns, and of course the excitement of actual tumbling. We have purchased various mats and tumbling assist blocks to ensure the safety of our students.
We do not offer higher level gymnastics like the bars, beam, vault, spring board, etc.
In class, students will need to wear any combination of a leotard, biketard, shorts and or leggings. With being on the mats, they will be in bare feet. They also must have their hair pulled up out of their face.
BATON
We have a lead instructor that handles all things twirling with the help of two assistants. In our classes, they will begin by teaching your child or reviewing the basics. Early in the year, they start learning and practicing their routine to participate and perform in local parades. As the season progresses, your child will continue learning new skills and talents.. The goal for our baton twirlers are to march in a minimum of three parades up to six parades in a season. If your child does not have their own baton, do not worry, we order those early in the year.
In class, students must wear sneakers! They will not practice if they do not have sneakers on. They also must wear “gym clothes” to practice in and have their hair pulled up out of their face.
For parades, they will be wearing white sneakers this year. (So that if any students participate in baton and cheer, the sneakers are the same.)

BASIC LEVEL CHEER
Cheer was a new class offered to students in 2024 & 2025. This class will be offered as a camp style moving forward in spring 2027.
Will be offered to school aged kids only (Kindergarten and older). In this class, students will begin by learning all the basics and then building on what they learn. We will teach all arm positions and movements, the various cheer jumps, work on flexibility, stretching and splits, will learn their “cheer voice” with one to two chants and one to two cheers and last but not least learning a short “ditty” (dance) and one longer cheer dance. Stunting of any kind will not occur in this class.
In class, students must wear sneakers! They will not practice if they do not have sneakers on. They also must wear “gym clothes” to practice in and have their hair pulled up out of their face.
For our showcase, we would like students to have white sneakers.
