REGISTRATION FEE:

If you are signing up for only one class, the registration fee is $30. If you are signing up for multiple classes, your registration fee is $40. If you are signing up for two siblings for one class each, your registration fee is $40. If you are signing two siblings who will be attending multiple classes, the registration fee is $50. Registration fees are non-refundable, and any returned checks will be subject to a $50.00 fee.

PAYMENTS:

You will be asked to pay at the first class of every month. We require payment whether your child is in attendance or not. If your child shows up in class without proper payment, they will not be permitted to stay for the class. Due to the size of the building, parents must wait outside the building while classes are being held, and parents are not permitted to be inside a classroom unless invited by an instructor. This will help give the teachers the students’ full attention while class is in session. Any late payments or returned checks will be subject to a $50.00 fee. We will only accept CASH or CHECK for class fees, fundraisers, costumes, uniforms, batons, shoes, apparel, tickets, programs, etc.

GIVE US A TRY:

We encourage parents and students, once you are registered, please make every attempt to try to stick out the whole season with us. But we do understand there are different circumstances that arise that would cause you to drop out. We make every effort possible to place your student(s) in classes that fit your student’s experience level, age, and day that works best for you. We also must keep in mind the number of students in a classroom and the staffing that needs to be hired. For example, we may have 100 students sign up and set our class sizes to roughly 12 students. If we have over 20 students drop out, that could cause our class sizes to drop to only 6 or so students in a class. We may no longer need higher amounts of staffing, or we could have combined two classes of 6 to create a class of 12, causing no need for 2 instructors but only 1. We are still paying the same insurance, rent, and staff paychecks the same if there are 6 kids or 12 kids to a class. Our drastic drop in numbers from registration to the middle of the season has been hurting the kids and teachers who are left in class the most! It also hurts financially, and we may have to cut classes offered or start out with much bigger class sizes in anticipation of losing the expected amount.

To discourage the number of students we lose after a season starts, we had to implement a few measures. We are requiring each parent to pay two $75 undated checks or $150 cash in a clearly labeled envelope. If your student stays through December 31, 2026, you will have the first $75 returned to you. If your student completes the season with the recital, you will receive the second $75 payment. We ask that if you are going to drop classes, you must communicate with me immediately to notify me you are quitting. If you are going to drop classes, it must be by October 31, 2026. If you decide to drop classes after the November 30th deadline, you will forfeit the full $150.

The deposit must be submitted on or before the first-class dates in the first week of October.

ATTENDANCE:

If your child(ren) misses more than (3) regularly scheduled practices without notifying a staff member of the absences, your child(ren) will be considered to have dropped out of Hart in Motion. You will receive NO refunds of any type (including both monetary and/or costumes, uniforms, or batons).

FUNDRAISERS:

Hart in Motion is generous in providing the opportunities for you to fundraise money to assist paying for your costumes, uniforms, batons, and dance shoes (tap, ballet, jazz). We highly encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities to help ease any financial burden from the year. Your student(s) will receive their fundraising earnings in a student(s) account. If you raise more money than the cost of your costumes, uniform, and baton, you are welcome to use it toward Hart in Motion apparel, Recital LoveNotes, Recital DVDs or you may donate your excess funds to a fellow student who was not successful in their own fundraising to go to their costumes, uniform or baton. You will not be allowed to use the fundraising money toward tickets to events, programs, to be refunded any money or rolled over to the following year. We also participate in group fundraisers. One in the spring to help offset Recital Ticket prices and a second in the spring to go toward an Equipment fund. This will continue going toward the purchases of mirrors, baton equipment (light batons, fire batons, hoop batons), as well as tumbling equipment. If you do not plan to participate in one of the group fundraisers, you will be required to pay the buyout amount of $50 or if you do not want to participate in either fundraiser, the buyout amount will be $75. The buyout amount will be due by April 30, 2026.
All fundraisers must be submitted using the Online Fundraiser Google Submission Forms. We will NOT accept any paper orders at the desk. And for each fundraiser payment, we will only accept ONE check or ONE cash total. All checks are always made payable to Hart in Motion.

COSTUMES & UNIFORMS:

Hart in Motion orders costumes and uniforms from wholesale suppliers. It has always been our best intention to try to make appearances at as many performances as possible during the year to make the most use out of their costumes and uniforms. Costumes, uniforms, and batons (if applicable) MUST be paid in full (either via fundraisers or payment by the parent/guardian) before they are ordered. If your account balance has not been paid for in full at the time of the group costumes, uniform, or baton have not been paid in full at the time of the groups’ ordering date, you will be required to pay for any additional fees that Hart in Motion incurs (ie. taxes, shipping and handling, etc.) on your own. We plan to have at least four (4) fundraisers to help offset the costs of the costumes, uniforms, and batons.

CONSIGNMENT SHOP:

We offer a consignment shop for you to sell your child(ren)’s gently used dance shoes, leotards and batons that are too small. Place your child(ren)’s items in a Ziploc bag with a note card inside on our consignment shop table. The note card should include the student’s name, the size of the item and how much you want for it. We will display, offer it to sell and give you 100% of the money. If you choose to leave Hart in Motion and do not ask for your consignment within 30 days of your last practice, it will become the property of Hart in Motion.
